World Environment Day Plantation Drive With RWWCO

FLO Northeast, in collaboration with the Railway Women’s Welfare Central Organisation (RWWCO), conducted a large-scale plantation drive at Sirisa Railway Udyan, Guwahati. 

The event aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage community-led green initiatives. The drive witnessed participation from members of RWWCO, and FLO, and 60+ volunteers were involved in planting saplings across the designated green plot.

The event was curated by Zonal President Ms. Shalini Srivastava and Secretary Ms. Navita Nandan of RWWCO and this green initiative was supported by the Silviculturist, Forest Department, and Government of Assam, who provided 600 saplings.

DFO Mr. Dibakar Dev also supported and cooperated in this event, coordinated by FLO member Ms. Sunumoni, with the Silviculture Department. The drive will continue in association with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), which has identified 15 plantation sites ranging from Guwahati to Umami Lake, where 400 saplings will be planted. Additionally, the Assam State Administrative College has begun its plantation efforts.
