World Environment Day 2025: Reuse. Recycle. Repurpose.

FLO Jaipur, led by Chairperson Dr. Rimmi Shekhawat, in collaboration with the Government of Rajasthan’s Rajeevika Department, hosted an initiative focused on the theme “Reuse. Recycle. Repurpose.”, highlighting sustainable practices while promoting women-led innovation and economic empowerment.

This initiative aims to celebrate World Environment Day through an eco-conscious livelihood model that not only preserves natural resources but also empowers women by providing them with sustainable employment opportunities.

FLO Jaipur launched a sustainable livelihood initiative focused on recycling temple floral waste into incense and dhoop sticks. 20 women were trained in this eco-friendly process and benefited from this initiative. To enhance scale and efficiency, mechanical agarbatti and packaging machines are being installed, enabling better hygiene, product consistency, and increased income for artisans.

Key Focus Areas:

Circular economy through floral waste recycling

Empowering grassroots women through green entrepreneurship

Promoting sustainability awareness and behavioral change

Facilitating market linkages for continued income

This initiative reflects FLO Jaipur’s commitment to sustainability, community empowerment, and meaningful grassroots transformation. By turning waste into opportunity and empowering women with purpose-driven livelihoods.
