FLO Jaipur, led by Chairperson Dr. Rimmi Shekhawat, in
collaboration with the Government of Rajasthan’s Rajeevika Department, hosted
an initiative focused on the theme “Reuse. Recycle. Repurpose.”,
highlighting sustainable practices while promoting women-led innovation and
economic empowerment.
This initiative aims to celebrate World Environment Day
through an eco-conscious livelihood model that not only preserves natural
resources but also empowers women by providing them with sustainable employment
opportunities.
FLO Jaipur launched a sustainable livelihood initiative
focused on recycling temple floral waste into incense and dhoop sticks. 20
women were trained in this eco-friendly process and benefited from this
initiative. To enhance scale and efficiency, mechanical agarbatti and packaging
machines are being installed, enabling better hygiene, product consistency, and
increased income for artisans.
