FICCI FLO, under the leadership of National President Ms. Poonam Sharma, organized an impactful and inspiring session titled “Women’s Conclave Power in Partnership: Evolving Leadership Roles” to discuss the power of collaborative partnerships for enabling leadership, innovation, and resilience. The event featured prominent women leaders and pioneers from sectors such as law enforcement, media, aviation, entertainment, and sports. Also, this session served as a networking platform for FLO members and guests to connect, collaborate, and build connections to support each other’s professional growth.
The session was chaired by Ms. Reena M. Vashisht, co-chair of the Marketing, Media, & Branding initiative. Initiative lead, Mehak Mehra, and team members, Shivani Chawla and Pritha Chawla, also made significant contributions to make this event successful. Women’s Conclave featured dynamic voices from various sectors to lead discussions among attendees regarding courage, conviction, and creativity in leadership and storytelling.

Highlights of the Conclave
- Inspector General of Uttar Pradesh Police, Ms. Laxmi Singh, delivered an inspiring speech on being a leader in a male-dominated country with fearlessness. Drawing from her 25 years of service, she shared her experiences of overcoming challenges in rural policing. She emphasized the significance of leading by example, fostering trust within the force, and collaborating with like-minded individuals to achieve common goals.
- Multi-award-winning journalist Ms. Sonal Kalra captivated the audience with her insights drawn from her illustrious career at Hindustan Times. As the Chief Managing Editor of Entertainment and Lifestyle at HT City, she has redefined lifestyle content as a blend of storytelling, cultural commentary, and subtle critique.
- The late Mr. Habib Ahmed left an unforgettable mark on all attendees through his engaging and insightful speech. He shared the inspiring journey of establishing a successful hairstyling and salon business in India and abroad. His clientele included some of India’s most prominent figures, such as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, both of whom sported signature hairstyles crafted by him.
- Ms. Riya Mukherjee, the founder of Riya Mukherjee Word Pictures (RMWP), shared her journey as a lyricist and her dedication towards producing innovative audio-visual content. As a lyricist, she contributed to the Hindi version of the globally acclaimed song Naatu Naatu from the film RRR. Also, Ms. Riya is a podcaster and screenplay writer, known for her show Riya’s Retro on Gaana. She is redefining cinematic storytelling with her strategic and innovative approach to lyric writing.
- The attendees witnessed the presence of brave Air India pilot, Captain Zoya Agarwal, who led the world’s longest all-women crew flight over the North Pole and continues to champion women’s empowerment in aviation and beyond. She emphasized the importance of collaboration in leadership and shared insights on handling challenging situations with maturity and effective problem-solving.
Impact
Around 58 FLO members attended the Women’s Conclave and got inspiration from the journey of the panelists. The event brought exceptional women leaders and pioneers together who are shaping India’s narrative across different industries. The dynamic speakers exemplified courage, conviction, and creativity through their leadership roles. This event is a testament to FICCI FLO’s efforts towards creating pathways for women to participate in leadership dialogues and thrive in decision-making spaces to promote inclusivity and diversity.
