FLO Kolkata, under the leadership of Chairperson Nidhi Jhunjhunwala, hosted an engaging and inspiring upcycling session, “The Green Plate & Palette”, to provide a hands-on experience in sustainable creativity to participants. It focused on celebrating mindful practices through food and art. The session, organised in collaboration with Heart to Art and Communications 2.0, provided members with a unique opportunity to transform discarded items into beautiful, new products.
Attendees channelled their creativity, using a variety of waste materials, such as boxes, bottles, bags, denims, and t-shirts, and upcycled them with fabric scraps, buttons, laces, ribbons, sequins, and paints. Adding to the event’s focus on sustainability, the talented Chef Ashish from Olive gave a special demonstration on how to create a delicious, mouth-watering salad using common kitchen waste.
The session was a fantastic success, highlighting how simple, creative actions can
contribute to a more sustainable lifestyle. It was a wonderful day of community, learning,
and mindful creation. A total of 25 members attended the evening that brought food, art and sustainability together. This program is a part of FLO Kolkata’s efforts towards promoting a sustainable lifestyle among people.
