Table Scaping as Transformative Storytelling

FLO Ahmedabad, under the leadership of Chairperson Madhu Banthia, organised an event to demonstrate how table scaping can evolve from a hobby into a creative entrepreneurial skill. Also, the session blended the beauty of literature with the art of curated décor, transforming a simple book reading into a sensory celebration. It included member integration over a literary discussion in the living room with acclaimed authors, Indira Nityanandam and Anu Chopra.

This event was a part of the Project Wings—Power to Empower program, which empowers women through skill development in the Wedding and Event industry. It focused on showcasing table scaping as a business opportunity. Participants experienced how thoughtful styling can add value to weddings, lifestyle events, and corporate gatherings—opening doors to income generation for women who wish to enter the event styling, décor, or hospitality sector. Rachna Mehta played a significant role in bringing this concept to fruition.

Also, a handcrafted wooden book prop set the tone, styled with fresh flowers and fruits to reflect the literary theme. The session taught attendees how storytelling through décor can elevate any event, making it both meaningful and marketable. It involved both authors: Indira Nityanandam & Co-author Anu Chopra.

This event benefited 30 FLO members as they gained the demanding skill of table scaping, which will give earning opportunities to the attendees. It inspired women to explore tablescaping as a skill that can scale into professional styling services, wedding décor consultancies, or creative collaborations.

Through Project Wings, FLO Ahmedabad encourages women to see everyday artistry—like table scaping—not just as an aesthetic practice but as a pathway to entrepreneurship, turning passion into purposeful income.
