Skilling Workshop At FICCI FLO Kolkata’s Skilling Centre

FLO Kolkata, under the leadership of chairperson Nidhi Jhunjhunwala, organised a skilling workshop for the women at the grassroots level at FICCI FLO Kolkata’s skilling centre. This event focused on empowering women by equipping them with skills to generate good income opportunities. Led by Ragini Kanoi, this skilling workshop is a brilliant example of upcycling and empowering women with a creative and marketable skill. 

Participants used waste fabric to create beautiful little birds, not only promoting sustainability but also getting a way to earn a livelihood and support their families. The versatility of the final product is a key highlight. Top Uses Of Little Birds Made From Waste Fabric For:

  • Creating beautiful bandarwal to hang at doors. 
  • Creating attractive packaging to add a unique and handcrafted touch to gifts.
  • Another use is to make hanging ornaments. Perfect to include in purses, potlis, or as home décor.
  • Used for wedding & mehendi favours. It would be a great personalised and memorable gift for guests.

     

Around 60 women benefited from this skilling workshop as they learned an income-generating skill. They beautifully crafted these near-perfect birds. This project beautifully combines artistry, environmental consciousness, and economic empowerment. Also, it is a part of FICCI FLO’s efforts towards empowering women at the grassroots level through skill development, education, and innovation. Also, this workshop aligns with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
