FLO Uttarakhand, under the leadership of Chairperson Dr. Geeta Khanna, in collaboration with Udgam Foundation, successfully conducted Project SHREE: Sarvodya, a unique and interactive seed bomb making session, which was held at Akhil Bhartiya Mahila Ashram, Laxman Chowk, Dehradun. In observance of World Environment Day, the workshop was designed to help participants reconnect with nature through the act of creating seed bombs using vegetable-bearing seeds.
The seeds used included tomato, chilli, bottle gourd, lady finger, brinjal, and capsicum — all chosen not just for their utility but also for their suitability for home and community gardens. These seeds are expected to germinate within a few days of sowing. This knowledge was shared with the participants during the session. Seed bombing was introduced as a simple yet impactful way to encourage green habits and create a positive environmental footprint.
The session was facilitated by Smriti Batta, Secretary of FLO Uttarakhand and Founder of Mind.Body.Soul, who guided participants through the process with great enthusiasm and insight. The project was initiated by Tripti Behl, Senior Vice Chairperson of FLO and President of Udgam Foundation, whose vision and leadership brought the event to life. Dr. Swati Anand, a committed member of the FLO Working Committee, was also present and contributed her support and perspective.
Project SHREE: Sarvodya proved to be a meaningful and enriching experience for all involved, embodying the spirit of environmental stewardship and community action. With every seed bomb crafted and shared, FLO Uttarakhand reaffirmed its promise to nurture a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future. The session saw active participation from 65 attendees who engaged in the hands-on session, resulting in the creation of over 500 seed bombs.
