Project DOSTI: Powering Possibilities Through Digital Access

FICCI FLO National President Ms. Poonam Sharma inaugurated Project DOSTI in Guwahati under the leadership of Ms. Rashmi Manchanda, Chairperson, FLO Northeast.

Project DOSTI, founded by high schoolers and recognized by Harvard University, aims to bridge the digital divide by providing laptops and structured digital education to underserved students. The initiative is led by Suhaan Khurana and Karan Raj Sachdeva, with a dedicated team managing curriculum, finance, and chapter leadership across India.

The digital literacy curriculum is divided into four phases over a year:

  • Phase 1: Basic Digital Literacy

  • Phase 2: Immediate Skills Development

  • Phase 3: Coding & Practical Applications

  • Phase 4: Advanced Projects & Capstone Certification

In the FLO Northeast, Project DOSTI has partnered with North East Network (NEN), Snehalaya, Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, and Blue Ladder Trust, impacting 230 children across Golaghat, Mirza, Darrang, Paltan Bazar, Gopinath Nagar, Birubari, and Rehabari. Classes will be held at NEN’s Gramin Mahila Kendras and other local centers.

A total of 8 laptops were distributed during the launch. Children and their teachers joined the inauguration via Zoom, alongside the DOSTI leadership team.

Immediate Past President Ms. Joyshree Das Verma, Ms. Queen Oja (Former MP), and over 60 FLO members attended the event. This collaboration marks a major step toward inclusive, tech-enabled education for marginalized communities in the Northeast.
