Making Ganesha from Shadu Clay

FLO Ahmedabad, under the leadership of Chairperson Madhu Banthia, organised a series of sessions for making Ganesha from Shadu Clay for the students of Tulip International School, Ahmedabad. This program is hosted by the Sustainability Committee and led by the initiative chair, Dr. Geetika Saluja. It focused on promoting eco-friendly celebrations by encouraging students to make their own idols of Lord Ganesha using natural Shadu clay.

The initiative began with a training session for senior students and teachers. Guided by Dr. Geetika Saluja, students of Grades 4–8 participated in hands-on workshops to craft their own idols. The idols were taken home for Ganesh Sthapana, reinforcing sustainability in festive traditions. Eco-friendly practices can be seamlessly integrated into cultural traditions, empowering children and families to celebrate responsibly while protecting the environment.
