FLO Chennai, led by Chairperson Ms. Niyati A. Mehta the event “Fashionably Purnia”. The event, attended by 390 members, featured a special textile showcase by Mr. Chandra, an artisan from Sri Kalahasti, renowned for its Kalamkari tradition.
Mr. Chandra’s stall was a vibrant celebration of the rich heritage of Kalamkari, showcasing a collection of sarees in both printed and hand-painted styles. The hand-painted Kalamkari sarees, in particular, stood out for their intricate detail, graceful motifs, and the fluidity of the fabric.
This initiative aligns with the chapter’s ongoing commitment to promoting Indigenous arts through this textile platform, supporting handloom weavers and artisans from across the state.
