FLO Handicrafted Bonds: A Rakhi Workshop Of Healing & Hope

FLO Jaipur, under the visionary leadership of Dr. Rimmi Shekhawat, Chairperson, organised FLO Handcrafted Bonds, a heartfelt Rakhi-making workshop at Halfway Home. The session included specially abled women inmates participating in the art of crafting Rakhis. Also, the event went far beyond the art of crafting Rakhis as it became a space of healing, self-expression, and community bonding. The workshop offered inmates a chance to:

  • Rebuild their confidence through creativity
  • Express themselves freely in a safe and encouraging environment
  • Rediscover the joy of shared traditions like Raksha Bandhan
  • Find empowerment in turning art into a symbol of resilience and dignity

As threads and colours came together in their hands, each rakhi became a powerful reminder of hope, strength, and sisterhood. What started as a festive workshop transformed into a meaningful step toward inclusion and rehabilitation. 50+ specially abled inmates learnt a skill with potential for future livelihood. Also, this activity nurtured emotional well-being and confidence.

It bridged tradition with empowerment, reminding participants of their place in society with dignity and pride. FLO Handcrafted Bonds was not just a workshop but a movement of compassion, creativity, and confidence-building. By empowering women at Halfway Home, FLO Jaipur once again reaffirmed its mission of inclusive growth and dignity for all.
