FLO Chennai & Apollo 1 Talk on Lifestyle and Preventive Medicine

FLO Chennai, in association with Apollo 1, hosted a session on Lifestyle and Preventive Medicine. The session, attended by 46 members, featured a talk delivered by Dr. Subhashini Venkatesh, a seasoned general physician with over 25 years of experience in preventive healthcare.

This initiative aims to equip the members with the knowledge and tools necessary to safeguard their health and well-being. This was the first in a series of exclusive health talks planned for members as part of the ongoing collaboration with Apollo, under this year’s theme — Kavach.

Dr. Subhashini’s session was both informative and engaging, covering essential aspects of preventive healthcare. The session also touched on critical concerns like obesity, smoking, and unhealthy dietary habits, creating awareness on how these factors silently contribute to lifestyle diseases. He highlighted the role of mental, social, and emotional well-being in maintaining a healthy body and mind. The Q&A session saw participation from members, with all queries being addressed by Dr. Subhashini.

The session concluded with a lucky draw where one fortunate member won a complimentary health checkup from Apollo. Additionally, Apollo offered free BMI and fat percentage screenings for all members with a BMI over 25, reinforcing the importance of early detection and intervention.

This session was not only informative but also a reminder that small, consistent efforts towards better health can make a difference.
