Financial Literacy Workshop With New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC)

YFLO Delhi, under the leadership of Chairperson Aaradhana Dalmia, in collaboration with the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), hosted a training program on Financial Literacy aimed at enhancing members’ awareness, confidence, and management skills in personal finance. The program combined foundational knowledge with practical tools to help members make informed money decisions in their personal and professional lives.

This session focused on equipping women with knowledge to safeguard them against fraud and mis-selling. Also, practical tools were provided for budgeting, saving, and planning to the participants.

Key Highlights
1. Money Management Basics: Income, expenses, budgeting, saving methods, and the power of compounding.
2. Financial Planning: Goal-setting and linking financial goals with suitable products.
3. Inflation & Investments: Understanding real vs nominal returns, need for inflation-beating assets.
4. Mutual Funds & Markets: SIPs, diversification, tax-saving options, and risk-return balance.
5. Digital Payments: UPI, AEPS, wallets, and secure digital transactions.
6. Insurance: Importance of life, health & general insurance, plus key government schemes.
7. Retirement Planning: Early planning, NPS, Atal Pension Yojana, and other schemes.
8. Fraud Awareness: Preventing scams, mis-selling, and grievance redressal mechanisms.

More than 50 attendees benefited from this financial literacy session, including YFLO members, women entrepreneurs, professionals, and young leaders, as they were eager to strengthen their financial knowledge and skills. Q&A sessions and case-based examples helped in enabling active participation among attendees.

The YFLO x NDMC Training successfully demystified financial concepts and provided actionable strategies for members to manage money with confidence. It reinforced YFLO Delhi’s commitment to empowering women through knowledge, financial independence, and informed decision-making. This program marked a meaningful step in ensuring that women & men not only earn but also invest, save, and plan wisely for a secure financial future.
