Empowering Through Skills: Millet Cookie Workshop

YFLO Ahmedabad, under the leadership of Chairperson Neha Goyal, organized a skill-building workshop for women in collaboration with Riddhi from The Gourmet Lab at her Lab Cooking Space as part of the ongoing CSR initiative. The session was led and beautifully managed by Dr. Stuti Shah, under the guidance of Neha Goyal.

The workshop introduced the participants to three varieties of millet cookies, focusing on simple, practical methods ranging from stove-top to oven baking. The objective was to ensure that the women could easily replicate these recipes at home using minimal equipment. The energy in the room was inspiring — the women were deeply engaged, excited, and eager to learn.

What made the session even more impactful was Riddhi’s generosity and thoroughness. She not only taught the recipes but also shared insights on packaging techniques, making it a complete learning experience that connects cooking with entrepreneurship. During the interaction, some participants mentioned having access to microwaves, which opened further avenues for teaching them adaptable methods.

They were encouraged to experiment with the resources they already have at home. In addition, the women were offered access to the Sunshine Lab for future use, where they can produce their cookies in larger quantities. YFLO also extended support by offering to help them with basic utilities and resources if they plan to pursue this as a business. This workshop was more than just about baking; it was a step towards financial independence.

Around 45 women benefited from this Millet Cookie-making workshop as they learned this skill to generate income. By equipping women with a practical, marketable skill, YFLO Ahmedabad is paving the way for them to explore small-scale sales and entrepreneurship opportunities. A heartfelt thank you to Riddhi, whose warmth and expertise made the session truly enriching, and to Dr. Stuti Shah for her dedicated leadership in bringing this initiative to life.
