YFLO Ahmedabad, under the leadership of chairperson Neha Goyal, has launched a transformative “Caregiver Training & Empowerment Program.” Starting from August 2025, the program is designed to professionally train caregivers over a period of six months. This program aims to create a sustainable source of income for caregivers and upskill them into highly qualified and medically trained professionals. It showcases that this training and empowerment program is going beyond basic caregiving.
The training is conducted at our state-of-the-art Skill Development Centre located in Ambawadi, Ahmedabad. The facility is equipped with modern amenities, technology-driven training methods, and lodging/boarding facilities for outstation participants – ensuring a comfortable, accessible, and immersive learning experience. The six-month training program has been carefully curated to provide holistic and hands-on learning. The modules include:
- Patient Care Training: Vital signs monitoring, wound care, medication assistance, infection control, emergency response, and palliative care.
- Elder Care Training: Understanding ageing, dementia care, emotional support, medication management, and safe mobility.
- Baby Care Training: Infant handling, hygiene, nutrition, safe sleep practices, and common illness management.
- Dementia Care Training: Behavioural management, effective communication, cognitive stimulation, and family engagement strategies.
Through this initiative, 250 individuals will be transformed into certified professional caregivers, with skills at par with nursing assistants. This program will provide them with stable income opportunities. It will enhance their dignity and professional identity. Also, it will address the growing demand for skilled caregivers in healthcare, eldercare, and childcare sectors and strengthen community health systems by creating a pool of trained professionals.
