FLO Uttarakhand, under the dynamic leadership and guidance of Chairperson Dr. Geeta Khanna, in collaboration with Moksh Creations Pvt Ltd, and with support from Trikon Society, successfully conducted the second edition of Badhte Kadam, a capacity-building and urban skilling program aimed at empowering underprivileged women. The session, held at Bari Ghat Basti, Canal Road, Dehradun, was chaired by Dr. Maansi Rastogi, Urban Skilling Initiative Head.
The primary objective of the initiative was to equip women from low-income backgrounds, particularly in urban areas, with market-relevant skills, soft skills, and entrepreneurial training, thereby enabling them to enhance their employability, income-generation capabilities, and social dignity. The program focused on women aged between 18 to 55 years and ran for a duration of three hours.
Key components of the training included sessions on entrepreneurship tailored for SHGs, mental wellness, hygiene awareness, and soft skills enhancement. The program was supported by Trikon Society, with National Governing Body Member and Past Chairperson Dr. Neha Sharma, is playing a pivotal role in identifying the location and mobilizing the women participants.
150 women from eight Self Help Groups (SHGs) and the local community attended this event. As a gesture of care and support, sanitary pads were distributed to all 150 women, along with healthy snacks to promote well-being.
