A Curated Art Walk – “ A Hungarian Indian Family of Artist: Master and Disciple”

FICCI FLO, under the leadership of National President Ms. Poonam Sharma, curated a special “Art Walk – A Hungarian-Indian Family of Artist: Master and Disciple”, at the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), Jaipur House, New Delhi. Organized in collaboration with the Liszt Hungarian Cultural Center, the walk-through celebrated the artistic legacy of the Sher-Gil family, highlighting the deep cultural ties between India and Hungary.

Dr. Mariann Erdo, Director of the Liszt Hungarian Cultural Center, Delhi, led the insightful tour, offering an engaging narrative on the intertwined creative journeys of Umrao Sher-Gil, Amrita Sher-Gil, and Ervin Baktay. The exhibition showcased 137 rare archival photographs alongside eight original paintings by Amrita Sher-Gil, generously supported by the National Gallery of Modern Art. The session, chaired by Ms. Geeta Athreya, exemplified FLO’s commitment to promoting cultural exchange and appreciation of global art heritage.
