YFLO Ahmedabad, under the leadership of Chairperson Ms. Neha Goyal, created a significant impact through Gramsetu, the first adopted village project in Valuna, Meghraj District (Aravalli). It is a place where change is no longer an idea, but a living, breathing reality.
This wasn’t just about building a center or planting trees; it was about walking alongside a community, understanding their lives, their struggles, and finding sustainable solutions together.
For many of us, this experience has been deeply emotional and perspective-changing, transforming not just the village but each one of us.
Vision: Building From the Ground Up
The Gramsetu Community Center was strengthened and expanded this year through YFLO Ahmedabad’s dedicated support. Spread across 3 acres, it is a space where sustainability meets self-reliance, built entirely with local materials and local participation. It now includes:
- A coordinator’s home and volunteer accommodations.
- A Gaushala housing 10 indigenous cows.
- A Gramudyog Production Centre for processing farm produce.
- Facilities for biogas, drip irrigation, rainwater harvesting, and solar-powered systems.
- Every wall here tells a story of resilience, unity, and empowerment.
Impact Created Under YFLO Ahmedabad 2025
In just months of engagement, Gramsetu has become a model of how consistent compassion and community participation can create lasting change:
- 308 farmer families engaged across 16 villages, directly benefiting over 1,500 villagers.
- 90,000+ trees planted, ensuring 100% survival, greening farmlands, and improving local ecology.
- 2 lakes rejuvenated (including Devalalu Lake, revived by YFLO Ahmedabad), restoring drinking water and groundwater recharge for hundreds.
- 58 local-breed cows, 28 biogas units, 22 rainwater tanks, 12 drip irrigation systems, bringing self-sufficiency to farming families.
- ₹20 lakh worth of organic produce was marketed, empowering farmers to earn with dignity.
- Women entrepreneurs running grocery shops, flour mills, and saree stores, turning self-dependence into family pride.
- Mechanization & Shared Equipment Support tractors and chaff cutters were introduced, reducing labor costs by up to 80%.
Each statistic is a heartbeat, a story of a family that now lives with more hope and stability than before.
The Emotional Core: A Transformative Experience
For us, Gramsetu has been more than a project; it’s been a relationship. Our team spent hours speaking with villagers, understanding their realities, and co-creating solutions that made sense for them.
The Road Ahead
This is only the beginning. YFLO Ahmedabad’s vision is to extend this impact across the 144 villages of Meghraj Tehsil, touching over 1.5 lakh lives with sustainable development, education, and women-led change. Gramsetu is set to become a living example for many more villages, showing that when hearts and hands unite, true transformation happens.
Gramsetu is not just a village we helped; it is a part of who we are now. It stands as a reflection of what women can achieve when empathy, leadership, and purpose come together. The seeds we planted here of hope, progress, and partnership will continue to bloom for generations to come.
