Sakhi Satrangi – The Yo-Yo Flower Creations

FLO Ahmedabad, under the leadership of Chairperson Ms. Madhu Banthia, organized a sustainability-centered session, titled “Sakhi Satrangi – The Yo-Yo Flower Creations,” with an aim to empower women from low-income communities. Participants received training in zero-waste textile upcycling. They created handcrafted Yo-Yo Flowers by converting textile waste into aesthetically pleasing, functional, and saleable products.

It trained over 20 women in crafting Yo-Yo Flowers using leftover textile pieces. The session introduced creative applications, including stoles, accessories, cushion covers, table runners, and décor products. Also, it promoted the concept of “zero-waste design” by upcycling every scrap of fabric.

Around 20+ women skilled and earning through handcrafted creations. Local NGOs, community centres, and textile donors are supporting raw material sourcing. The project fostered entrepreneurship, sustainability, and self-reliance through creative reuse.
