FICCI FLO, under the leadership of the National President, Ms. Poonam Sharma, completed its 6th module, “Build Your Angel Playbook,” a part of the She Invests Angel Investing program, which aims to train women entrepreneurs to become future generation angel investors and capital allocators.
Attendees participated in an assignment-based exercise in this last session, which provided them with a simulated investment committee experience. Women participants practiced their angel investing strategies by showcasing how to choose a startup, build an investment case, consider risk factors, and much more.
FICCI FLO Startup Cell collaborated with Dexter Ventures, a pre-pool fund investing firm primarily in seed and pre-seed stage startups across diverse sectors, to launch this structured program. This course has benefited attendees by equipping them with advanced knowledge and skills, such as startup evaluation, deal structuring, legal and regulatory understanding, and portfolio management.
Attendees learned these skills through live masterclasses with industry experts, guest talks by women VCs, founders & legal advisors, peer circles for deal simulations, and real startup pitches & case studies. Now, they are ready to invest in early-stage startups.
Key Highlights
- Participants selected a startup they admire (under 10 years old and under ₹100 crore revenue) in the virtual session of the 6th module.
- They came up with an investment case using VC frameworks, analysing sector–stage fit, investibility indicators, risk factors, and alignment with their personal investment thesis.
- Then, the participants presented a concise 3–4 minute pitch to the cohort as an Investment Committee recommendation.
- Also, the session included exceptionally well-crafted presentations by members, Ishani, Padmaja, Shaloo, Gunjan, and Gazal, each demonstrating strong analytical depth and strategic thinking.
Outcome
After the successful completion of all the modules for the She Invests course, participants will receive a Certificate of Participation from FICCI FLO and Dexter Ventures. Post certification, they will get opportunities to invest in real & early-stage startups.
The participants are now equipped with Startup Evaluation Toolkits, Personalized Angel Investing Playbook, and access to FLO Angel Circles & Events.
