FLO Vadodara, under the leadership of Chairperson Shivani P. Patel, organized a cycle distribution session for rural schoolgirls by providing bicycles that enable them to access education and skill-building opportunities, fostering mobility, confidence, and long-term socio-economic growth through rural skilling. This rural skilling program for girls in Ankodiya village was made possible in collaboration with Finolex Pipes & Fittings and Mukul Madhav Foundation.
20 girls studying in Std. 8 across two local schools received bicycles, generously donated by Finolex Industries via Mukul Madhav Foundation, to ensure safe and reliable travel to continue their education from Std. 9 onwards. By providing these bicycles, the initiative directly contributes to rural skilling—offering girls the freedom and mobility to access learning, develop practical skills, and create pathways for personal growth and future opportunities.
The initiative highlighted the transformative effect of enabling girls’ mobility, fostering aspirations, and reducing dropout risks, thereby laying the foundation for long-term growth. The event was graced by dignitaries, including Shri Dharmendrasinh Vaghela, MLA Waghodia; Mr. Biren Patel, Chairman, Taluka Panchayat Vadodara; and Smt. Mayuriben Patel, Sarpanch of Ankodiya.
Senior representatives from the partner organizations, including Ms. Niketa Kulkarni, Senior Manager – Production Planning & Control, Finolex Industries, and Mr. Nitul Barot, CSR Head, Mukul Madhav Foundation, engaged with the beneficiaries, encouraging them to embrace education and skill-building with dedication. FLO Vadodara Chairperson, Ms. Shivani Patel (2025–26), highlighted that mobility and education go hand-in-hand in enabling holistic development.
She emphasized that even a simple intervention like providing bicycles can transform lives, empowering girls to access education and develop skills that shape their future. This initiative reflects FLO Vadodara’s commitment to empowering girls through rural skilling, mobility, and sustainable community action. It stands as a proud milestone, demonstrating how targeted support can create lasting social impact and strengthen pathways for rural girls’ development.
The cycle distribution event was attended by over 350 people, including parents, school staff, and community members, creating a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere. For the girls, receiving a bicycle was a moment of pride and empowerment, symbolizing independence, opportunity, and the ability to actively pursue learning and skill-building—key components of rural skilling.
