Objective
Skilling in the Wedding Industry initiative empowers women through specialised skilling in the wedding and allied industries, enabling them to move from basic training to sustainable income generation. Its program, Project WINGS: ‘Women Initiating Next Gen Weddings’, aims to unlock livelihood opportunities by aligning traditional crafts and cultural practices with the contemporary demands of India’s ever-growing wedding economy.
By nurturing creativity, entrepreneurial spirit, and financial literacy, FLO seeks to transform women into confident contributors to both their households and the larger economy.
Scope of Work
Skill Development Workshops
Training women in traditional and modern wedding-related crafts such as floral décor, mehendi art, saree draping, embroidery, gifting solutions, potli making, resin art, and soft furnishings.
Vocational Training for Niche Services
Introducing women to specialised areas including sustainable décor, mocktail and culinary presentation, sound healing, wellness-based services, and event styling.
Partnerships with Industry
Collaborating with wedding planners, hospitality brands, and event companies to provide market linkages and ensure demand-driven skill training.
Entrepreneurship Enablement
Supporting women to set up home-based businesses, micro-enterprises, and self-help groups to monetise their skills.
Market Access & Showcasing
Creating platforms for women to exhibit and sell their products and services at exhibitions, fairs, and wedding industry networks.
Sustainability & Innovation
Encouraging eco-friendly practices like upcycling waste flowers into décor and gifts, promoting Ayurveda-based wellness, and blending heritage crafts with modern aesthetics.
Holistic Empowerment
Building confidence, communication, digital literacy, and financial management skills to ensure long-term success and independence.
