FLO Kolkata, in a significant green initiative today, collaborated with the Eastern Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (ERWWO) to plant 300 saplings at the ERWWO complex. The event was aimed at enhancing the city’s green cover and promoting environmental consciousness.
The day was marked by the presence of Shri Milind K Deouskar, General Manager of Eastern Railways, who lauded the collaborative effort. In his address, he emphasised the importance of such initiatives in combating climate change and creating a healthier urban environment.
The plantation drive was led by the enthusiastic members of FICCI FLO Kolkata and Smt. Seema Deoskar, President of ERWWO. The event was described as a very enriching day by the participants, who worked together to plant a variety of native trees.
Following the successful plantation drive, Shri Milind K Deouskar also inaugurated a newly developed Railway Protection Force (RPF) colony. This new facility is expected to provide improved housing and amenities for the RPF personnel and their families, acknowledging their dedicated service to the nation’s lifeline.
The dual events underscored a commitment to both environmental stewardship and the welfare of railway personnel.
