FLO Chennai has partnered with Southern Railways Women’s Headquarters Organisation (SRWHQO), stemming from the MOU signed through the National Sustainability Vertical. Their sustainability team, in collaboration with the heads of Southern Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (SRWWO), took a beautiful step forward by planting 15 fruit-bearing trees at Ashray School in Ayanavaram. Each tree was lovingly named after one of our members, making it a deeply personal and symbolic gesture.
This gathering wasn’t just about trees—it was about laying down roots for a long-term collaboration. Plans are already in motion to support the mentally challenged children at Ashray Centre, not just through greenery, but through training programs and skills-based support that can truly empower their future.
The day ended with a warm and engaging conversation circle with President Sonia Singh, Chitra Balasundaram, and several other inspiring women.
