FLO Northeast, on the occasion of World Menstrual Hygiene Day, organized an awareness session at Ullubari High School, Guwahati, under the leadership of Chairperson Ms. Rashmi Manchanda. The session was conducted by Dr. Rajashree Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, GMCH.
Dr. Sharma provided insights into menstrual health, addressed common myths, and explained essential hygiene practices. Her approach was informative, empathetic, and well-tailored to the understanding of the young students. 225 students from Classes 8 to 12 joined the session.
The session was held with the kind cooperation of Principal Ms. Neelakshi Baruah and Vice Principal Ms. Namita Goswami. As part of the initiative, sanitary pads, face masks, and fruit juice were distributed to all the attending students.
The session encouraged the students to understand their health better and speak openly about menstruation. FICCI FLO Northeast remains committed to continuing such impactful initiatives that promote education, dignity, and wellness among the youth.
