YFLO Kolkata visited the Adhigam Bhoomi – Education Rooted in Our Soil – a residential school empowering 1000+ rural girls through culturally rooted, self-reliance-driven education. Under the National Initiative – Financial and Digital Literacy, Skilling and Upskilling while maintaining an eco-friendly and sustainable environment. More than 100 people were impacted by this initiative.
A flagship initiative, Adhigam Bhoomi, embodies the spirit of “Apni Mitti Se Judi Shiksha”—education rooted in one’s own soil. Women are not only taught academics but are also equipped with vocational skills, entrepreneurship training, and financial literacy.
Mukti Gupta founded “Help Us Help Them” (HUHT), a movement that has revolutionized the educational landscape. This initiative has transformed the lives of over 700 children through 2 major projects – a rural school in Mallickpur and an innovative School on Wheels that brings education to rural doorsteps.
Key takeaways:
● Q&As from young girls
● A walk through eco-friendly classrooms & farms
● Handmade surprises and student talents on display
Mukti’s dream project, a residential school for 1,000+ underprivileged girls is now a reality. The chapter visited the school and heard firsthand from the students about their journeys of learning, growth, and hope – dreams grounded in their roots.
