FLO Pune, as part of the Rural Livelihood Initiative, a Breast Cancer Screening Camp at ISKCON, Camp. This health-focused initiative aims to promote preventive healthcare and early detection among women from underserved and rural communities. 114 women from various rural belts registered for the screening and many from economically challenged backgrounds. They were offered free breast health check-ups, counseling, and awareness of the importance of early detection in preventing breast cancer.
The camp was joined by Chairperson Anita Agarwal, along with her team – Noopur Pawar, Gauri Dhole-Patil, Gayatri Ghule, and Sujata Dahad, who interacted with the participants and emphasized the importance of regular health check-ups as a critical component of women’s empowerment and well-being.
This initiative addresses the healthcare gap and marks a significant step toward accessible health services for women in rural areas. Building on the success of this session, a second round of the camp is scheduled for May 31, 2025, where more than 300 women, primarily from rural Pune’s ‘Bachat Gats’ (self-help groups), are expected to participate. The screening efforts will continue to expand outreach into deeper rural and underserved areas.
