After the Women Corporate Director panel discussion held at the American Consulate on 9th June 2015, FLO Mumbai Chapter had conducted a one day Training Program for Aspiring/Existing Women Directors. It was held at Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research. The training session was conducted by Ms. Priyanka Awasthy (Co- Founder of Biz Divas Foundation and Altavis Consulting) & Ms. Kalpana Unadkat (Solicitor and partner of Khaitan & Co’s corporate team in Mumbai office). It included understanding the needs of stakeholders and identifying their needs, understanding duties and obligations, personal risk liability, budgeting, policy making, compliances, corporate social responsibility, chairing a meeting, understanding the importance of influence and establishing different skills required to influence and much more, including role play. Key Takeaway: Existing Women Directors as well as aspirants found great value in the program and the basic preparedness it gave them to take on such a responsibility. Legal insights in particular, were very valuable.
