SWAYAM, a helpline launched 3 years ago by the then Chairperson, Sucheta Shah, was relaunched this year by the new Executive Committee consisting of Renu Kapoor, Chairperson, and Falguni Padode, Senior Vice Chairperson.
SWAYAM aims at helping aspiring women entrepreneurs get started; as well as helping existing entrepreneurs to scale up though marketing and branding assistance, by using the online route. The SWAYAM team spearheaded by Monica Chaturvedi, Joint Secretary, has competent, sincere women entrepreneurs helping it to take off.
The model consists of panelists who are empanelled with FLO. Members who wish to approach them, write in, the SWAYAM team meets up with them, understands their need and accordingly directs them to the relevant panelist. The helpline already has four panelists on board.
At the same event, progress on another initiative undertaken on a year-long basis by the Mumbai Chapter – Skilling of 50 girls during the year – was shared with the members. Eighteen girls have so far been successfully skilled in the fields of beauty and jewellery design.
Many life members were highly appreciative of the substantial strides made by the Chapter towards implementing real change.
