YFLO Ahmedabad, under the leadership of Chairperson Ms. Neha Goyal, in collaboration with Dreams, organized a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Teachers’ Training for female educators at Vikram A. Sarabhai Community Science Center (VASCSC). The program focused on empowering women educators through innovative science learning. The workshop offered hands-on learning experiences in various STEM concepts, such as:
- 3D design & printing.
- Robotics and drones.
- Circuits and model rocketry.
- Chromatography and creative chemistry.
- DIY science tools — participants even built their own stethoscopes, microscopes, and basic lens cameras.
These interactive sessions made science fun, accessible, and deeply engaging for the teachers. The training not only enhanced scientific knowledge but also boosted clarity, confidence, and creativity among educators. The participants are now equipped to launch an interactive, hands-on science program for grades 6–9, with a special focus on encouraging girls to explore science and technology.
Through this training, the 29 empowered teachers will now take their learnings back to their respective schools and community classrooms, reaching an estimated 800–1,000 children across multiple Manav Sadhna education centers.
By integrating hands-on experiments and STEM-based activities into their daily teaching, these educators will make science more interactive, practical, and exciting for students, especially young girls who often lack exposure to such opportunities. This ripple effect ensures that the benefits of the training go far beyond the workshop, inspiring hundreds of children to think creatively, explore fearlessly, and dream scientifically.
The STEM Teachers’ Training was a powerful step toward building capacity and confidence among grassroots educators. Through experiential learning and innovation, this initiative has paved the way for a more inclusive, curiosity-driven approach to science education.
