FLO Kanpur, led by Chairperson Ms. Kriti Shroff, in collaboration with Kanpur Ploggers, launched a three-month-long E-Waste Management Drive. The drive aims to encourage the safe and responsible disposal of electronic waste across the city.
The drive was officially launched at Kanpur Medical Centre, Lajpat Nagar, where the first collection center was inaugurated. The initiative was led by event Chair Ms. Roli Gupta with support from the FLO Executive Committee members. The launch event was attended by key members and supporters of the initiative, including Parul Rajoria, Bhawna Gupta, Manjari Kanodia, Dr. Priyanka Bhargava, Kangna Dhingra, Manohar Chandak, Namrata Garg, Neha Khandelwal, Namita Agarwal, and Shalini Malhotra.
6 collection centers have been set up across key locations – Kanpur Medical Centre, Lajpat Nagar, Cawnpore Club, Cantt, Ganges Club, Arya Nagar, Emerald Garden, Swaroop Nagar, SGM Bookstore, Gumti No. 5, and Bhargava Medical & Trauma Centre, Kidwai Nagar.
The centers are to remain operational from June 6 to September 6, 2025, allowing citizens to drop off unused or old electronic items – mobile phones, chargers, batteries, laptops, cables, printers, remote controls, and more. Items like plastic bottles, used clothes, steel, aluminum, and household waste will not be collected as part of this initiative.
Additionally, the drive includes awareness efforts on the environmental hazards of improper e-waste disposal and the importance of recycling to reduce landfill burden and recover valuable resources.
