FLO Vadodara, under the leadership of Chairperson Ms. Shivani P. Patel, in collaboration with R Narayan Jewellers, hosted a jewellery workshop to promote artisan-led jewellery through design, sustainability, and sales opportunities under FICCI FLO’s National Initiative for Handloom and Jewellery. Entrepreneur and designer Ms. Tosha Chkoshi led this jewellery workshop.
As the owner of R Narayan Jewellers, she provided valuable insights into the journey of a woman entrepreneur working at the intersection of tradition, sustainability, and innovation. Tosha shared how she employs skilled artisans in the making of her jewellery, thereby contributing to livelihood generation and preservation of craftsmanship.
As a part of the FLO Connect series, she also spoke about her entrepreneurial journey—how she started her venture with a focus on design-led creativity while ensuring that the making process remained in the hands of artisans. A unique highlight of her practice is her sustainable approach.
By reusing and repurposing old jewellery into new contemporary designs, she not only preserves heritage but also promotes conscious consumption in line with FLO’s vision for sustainable entrepreneurship. Through this collaboration, FLO Vadodara supported Tosha Chkoshi and, in turn, the artisans, handloom, and jewellery ecosystem.
With FLO’s support, the workshop achieved remarkable sales, creating direct market opportunities for artisan-made jewellery. This initiative reaffirmed FLO’s mission to empower women, strengthen artisan networks, and create awareness about India’s rich legacy in handloom and jewellery. Around 100 participants benefited from this workshop as they gained knowledge and skills regarding successfully running a jewellery business.
