FLO Jaipur, under the visionary leadership of dynamic Chairperson Dr. Rimmi Shekhawat, hosted an extraordinary 3-day retreat in Suryagarh, Jaisalmer. It was based on themes, such as patriotism, army experience & heritage. Members assembled for a journey of empowerment, culture, and national pride.
Indian Army Experience
- Members were honored with a rare visit to the Longewala Border, the historic site of the 1971 war, where 123 brave soldiers held off an entire enemy battalion. Walking through the trenches, the War Memorial, and the Museum brought alive stories of unparalleled courage and sacrifice.
- At the Army Training Centre, members engaged directly with soldiers, gaining first-hand insights into frontline operations and experiencing the thrill of a battle tank ride, deepening their appreciation of the dedication of our armed forces.
- The retreat culminated with a breathtaking Light & Sound Show at the Army War Memorial, leaving every member moved and filled with immense national pride.
Empowerment & Heritage
The members visited Rani Ratnavati Girls School- an award-winning sustainable marvel providing free education to 400+ girls & empowering women through livelihood craft supporting women’s livelihoods by donating and purchasing products crafted by local mothers, reinforcing FLO’s mission of women empowerment.
Cultural explorations included Lodurva Jain Temple, Jaisalmer Fort (Sonar Quila), and Patwon Ki Haveli, immersing members in Rajasthan’s rich history, architecture, and heritage.
Impact
Around 50 members went on this retreat and got involved in the journey of the women empowerment, patriotism, and heritage appreciation. FLO members left inspired, enriched, and deeply connected—to each other, to the spirit of our nation, and to the legacy of courage and resilience exemplified by the Indian Army.
A heartfelt salute to the Indian Army for opening its world to FLO and creating memories that will be cherished forever. This retreat was a part of FICCI FLO’s efforts towards creating a community of members through engagement and networking.
