FLO Chennai’s Book Club organized a literary afternoon at Dou, Rutland Gate, Chennai. The members invested themselves in The Stationery Shop of Tehran by Ms. Marjan Kamali, a tale of love, loss, and resilience set against the backdrop of political upheaval in Iran. With 37 members in attendance, the session was as thought-provoking as it was enjoyable.
The meeting was spearheaded by Book Club Chairs Shibi Ravi and Sushma Tolia, and Ms. Sonali, Co-Chair of the SPARK group. The discussion was moderated by storyteller Ms. Mahitha, her questions encouraged participants to reflect on their choices, the historical and emotional undercurrents of the novel. The conversation touched upon themes of love, fate, and the consequences of political turmoil.
The afternoon concluded with a high tea, sponsored by the KUN BMW showroom. Members continued their conversations, exchanging book recommendations and forging connections beyond the pages of the novel.
