FLO Bangalore, led by Chairperson Dekyi Yangtso Chawla, organised its first power-packed Social Initiatives – Education event at Darshan International, Jigani, Bangalore, to educate the factory workers about saving and investing money. As a part of the National Initiative – Financial Literacy, the session not only empowered them with knowledge but also ignited a sense of confidence in taking charge of their financial futures.
This impactful session was facilitated by FLO member Preetha Wali, along with officers from the GPO, whose efforts made this initiative truly meaningful for the factory workers of Darshan International. The session was very interactive, and personalised guidance and support were provided by the GPO officer. Speaker Ms Preetha Wali and the initiative team organised a game on finance with trays and coins to ensure understanding, involvement & easy visualisation of the program.
The workforce enjoyed the game and gave their full participation. Highlight was that participants were able to fill forms and start their savings accounts there itself with the help of the GPO officers. The most fulfilling and humbling moment came when a woman approached FLO members and said, “We love you and thank you for educating us.”
Key topics covered in the session are: budgeting, saving, investing, retirement planning, and health insurance. Finance made simple was an inspiring and eye-opening experience for the 211-strong workforce of Darshan International, who were educated on the importance of financial awareness, savings, and investing.
