YFLO Ahmedabad, led by Chairperson Ms. Neha Goyal, shared key updates on the “Kunol Village Forest Department Nursery” Initiative, a CSR project located near the Gujarat-Rajasthan border on the occasion of World Environment Day.
The initiative aims to promote ecological restoration while simultaneously empowering local communities through sustainable practices.
Key milestones achieved so far include – the planting of 4,000 trees with the support of the Forest Department, the distribution of 3,500 grafted fruit-bearing trees to local farmers, fostering income generation, the establishment of a medicinal plant nursery with 20,000 saplings, maintained by trained local youth, and preparation of 5 hectares of land for a “Vankavach” (Green Shield) plantation using the Miyawaki method, with 25,000 saplings ready for the next phase.
